What Peter Ooi wrote is not surprising (' Education system fails top scorers '). As the population increases and more and more students are opting to enter Chinese schools, the sad fact is that the government is doing nothing to increase the number of Chinese schools, especially secondary Chinese schools.

The only step the Chinese schools can do to cater to the increasing number of students is to expand the existing schools. But then there is a limit to how much they can expand. In fact, from what is currently known, the government is not approving the building of any secondary Chinese schools. For example in Penang and Selangor.

How many secondary Chinese schools have been built during the last, say, 20 years? I won't be surprised if the answer is zero.
