I am glad that the Free Anwar homepage is back in operation to give us alternative information and interpretation of the political development in our country.

One of the first items I read in the restored homepage was the Christmas message of Keadilan president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, which calls on us "Malaysians of all races and religions will share the joy of Christmas in our traditional ways of mutual respect and mutual appreciation of diversity in unity".

She also courageously reaffirms that "despite some differences, both Muslims and Christians share the beliefs in the same One Good God who is just and merciful", and that "Jesus Christ is respected in Islam and by all Muslims as the greatest of all prophets before Prophet Mohamad (Peace Be Upon Him)".

I am not attempting to apple-polish Wan Azizah or Keadilan (they cannot give me business contracts or projects anyway), but let us call a spade a spade: Anwar Ibrahim and his supporters are not "extremists" or "terrorists" as some media in Malaysia and other countries try to unjustly portray.

On the contrary, they are moderate Muslims and politically responsible Malaysians.

The fact that Keadilan is always welcome to hold its meetings and rallies in the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall also shows that it is more multi-ethnic than Umno, whose youth section once threatened to raze this icon of the Chinese community to the ground.

Let us hope that Keadilan will be better understood by all Malaysians who cherish multi-culturalism, mutual respect and mutual appreciation.

Won't you join me and my family to pray for the health of Anwar and for justice to be done to this brave man. May God protect him from all harm to soul and body. May God open up the hearts of his opponents, and pave the way to national reconciliatio.
