Anwar Ibrahim won't necessarily be history if the Barisan Alternatif forms the next government, since it can consider a retrial or a royal pardon.

While A Malaysian may find none of the opposition parties can offer what he or she wants, dropping out of the political process only helps the ruling party by default - just as the many Americans who didn't vote helped bring George W Bush upon themselves - hence a war without end and the possibility that their young sons could be drafted to fight for US imperialism.

Always remember that while one may not want to be involved in politics, politics inevitably involves us whether we like it or not.

At the end of the day, there's much more than Anwar. There are more socially important things which we should be concerned about, so we should we not abdicate our role as citizens.
