After reading the ' Becoming a cop like winning the lottery ' letter, I cannot agree any more with the statement. Last year, when my friends and I returned to our hometown Sibu after a long while, we noticed some major road changes in town. One night, we drove in two cars by a dark shophouse area - our usual route - and had an unforgettable experience with the local police.

As I was leading in front, I saw a funny light shaking up and down. It was raining heavily at that time and I just assumed it was a motorcyclist. Without hesitation, I continued driving.

After a while, I realized that my friend wasn't following from behind, prompting me to call my friend up. I got a shock when I found out that they were stopped by police, and that the police were initially trying to pull me over but failed.

Apparently, my friends were stopped for going through a no entry road. As we have been away for quite some time, we're unaware of the road change and we did not even see any signs of 'no entry'. When asked about the missing 'no entry' sign, the police rudely pointed towards the ground where the 'no entry' sign was facing downwards. Arguing back failed to persuade them.

We're totally frustrated by such cunning policemen who take advantage of the situation to rob innocent drivers especially during the festive seasons (knowing most outstation people are unaware of such road change). Instead of providing solution to the problem by fixing the sign board, it is indeed a shame to know that some policemen are all out to rob drivers.
