I am writing in response to the TV3 advertisement which was aired during Chinese New Year. Being a black man, I found it very distasteful and cannot understand why such an advert can be aired on national television.

Some black people who live Malaysia are married to locals and have children - just imagine how their families would have felt. Does the advertisement mean to portray that being black is a curse? A lot of bad publicity is given to blacks in Malaysia.

As a matter of courtesy the management of TV3 should apologise. I pray that such negative publicity would not be aired in future, as Malaysia is a multi-racial country with a percentage of the population being dark skinned.

Remember, what our children see now will be the same way they will act in the future
