Reading through KY Low's ' In defence of Khairy and the young ones ', one wonders whether the essence of M Bakri Musa's message is more complex between the lines. From my experience with people from Khairy's group, it would be terribly difficult not to concur with Bakri's views.

The fact that there were few politicians who succeeded without much experience is not enough to disagree with Bakri's contention for Khairy to get more experience.

It should not be forgotten that Anwar Ibrahim was never a corporate man but his role in Abim and its offshoots (Wamy, Akademi Anda to name a few) was part of the process of getting oneself equipped for the world of politics. Even then it was found inadequate for the extent of mire in Umno.

No doubt there are a lot of young people who would aspire to be in Khairy's position. However, not many could have the 'openings'.

The most significant point raised by Bakri was the need for Khairy to be objective, impartial and truthful in ways befitting his position, which in this case may not be possible due to the nature of the relationship he has with the prime minister, who happens to be his father-in-law.
