Royal pardon for an unconvicted gangster

I was very shocked when a good friend showed me a newspaper report that Penang notorious gangster Jackie Chan obtained a royal pardon from our King while under detention in Johor.
This is the biggest joke of all. Chan was not charged and convicted, yet he got a royal pardon. He must be indeed a very important person in Malaysia and this should go down into our Malaysian Books of Records.
Perhaps, it is time we take a second look around and ask ourselves whether this is good for the nation.
