I refer to the issue " absence of airbags in Proton and Perodua cars ". I am of the opinion that airbags rank in priority over other systems like Captor vehicle recovery system in event of theft which is installed in some Proton cars (e.g, Perdana V6 and Gen.2).

As a matter of fact, a car with an 'executive' status like the Perdana V6, not having at least driver's airbag is unacceptable to me. I own a Hyundai Sonata which has two airbags and ABS. Recently, I took my wife to view the Hyundai Accent, which has fancy multi-mode trip computer reading like my Sonata, but no airbags. Isn't safety more important?

The same goes for Gen.2, no airbags. My wife currently owns the Perodua Kelisa, which does not even have rear seat belts! As such, we cannot even install the child safety seat in the rear section of the car. I hope our transport minister can get these car manufacturers to get their act together to provide safer cars.
