I would like to raise the issue of Bangsar Seafood Village's (BSV) relocation and the development of 'One Bangsar'- a group of restaurants at Jalan Ara and Jalan Terasek, which is in a residential area. The legality of such a commercial development in the middle of a residential area is indeed questionable.

For years the area around BSV and the Jolly Green Giant at Jalan Telawi has been plagued by rats, and this was even reported in New Straits Times' Nuance section. I will not rule out a migration of rodents into this residential area once this restaurant is fully operational.

Rats are just one of the drawbacks. What about indiscriminate parking of vehicles in front of houses? An increase in thefts and burglary in the area? Drunks and noise in the area, and not to mention that there are already two kindergartens right next to the future 'One Bangsar'.

I am only a 15-year-old secondary school student but I know that this restaurant will change the face of my residential area, most probably for the worse. I just do not understand which government official in his/her right mind would approve such a development in our residential area as we already have our fair share of problems with a famous nightspot at our doorstep.
