The Selangor DAP must state their stand on Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim’s alleged ‘sins’, and explain to the public whether they had known of these allegations but had chosen to keep quiet, or that they were completely unaware because they were too busy hiding themselves.

Now that Khalid’s integrity has come into questioned over the recent revelations by PKR, why is DAP not urging that Khalid be investigated under Selangor’s Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat)?

DAP is part of the Selangor state government, not only in terms of exco positions, but also because they have 15 state assemblypersons, thus why was nothing mentioned about these allegations? Is DAP really working as part of the state administration, or are they merely sleeping on the job?

Since it is hard to believe that DAP can be kept unaware of Khalid’s alleged power abuse and corruption, therefore the only logical reason is that DAP had chosen to say nothing despite knowing. In fact, they might have even worked with Khalid to gain profits for themselves. After all, those revelations are not a new issue, but long-standing problems.

As such, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng is thus obliged to clear the air over whether or not DAP had a hand in Khalid’s alleged shady dealings, while at the same time claiming to fight against corruption, as the people have the right to know the truth.

Also, instead of pushing the blame to Khalid alone, Selangor DAP, too, must be aware that they are bear some responsibility since they are a part of the state government. Thus, their claims to champion accountability and transparency have been proven false with these recent allegations.

Of course, Guan Eng may take another stand by claiming that Khalid is innocent of any wrongdoing, but then DAP has already expressed full support for Khalid’s removal. Thus, it is clear that DAP is only putting the political interest of Pakatan first by acquiescing to PKR’s idea of producing trumped-up charges against Khalid!
