I have been having some sleepless nights caused by prank calls made to my wife's mobile phone between 1am to 2am. It has been going on for a few days and I am getting tired of it. No, I'm not going to just turn off the phone and give in to these prank calls.
This morning, I decided to take some 'action' by calling Maxis and filed an official complaint. I called their customer service, and a lady answered my call. I immediately informed her about my situation and asked her what Maxis could do about the problem. She said Maxis was unable to do anything! They could not ban the calls to my wife's phone and are unable to give warnings to the offender (whose prank calls also originated from Maxis' 012 number).
She said Maxis was merely a 'service provider'. I am totally appalled by such an attitude. They say they are providing a service to users but are unable to do anything if any of their paying customers is victimised by prank calls or is misusing the service that Maxis provides.
The next course of action that I could think of is to file a police report but after seeing first-hand how 'helpful' Maxis is, I'm beginning to have second thoughts. I wonder how many more paying customers have to go through this tiring episode until action is taken against the perpetrators?
