I learned through a Spanish newspaper that a TV commercial for a juice drink in Kuala Lumpur depicted a bullfight.

We should be aware that bullfights are spectacles of extreme cruelty where bulls and horses are tortured in the name of entertainment. According to the Spanish matador shown in the ad, Malaysia was a promising country for the import of this "sport", and people were "receptive" to this kind of torture.

I do not believe that a country like Malaysia should condone torture towards animals, therefore I kindly request that Malaysians not to allow such bullfights.

Bullfights dehumanise people and are conducive to violence. This has an effect on society both in the short- and long-term in that people have less respect for other human beings, since those who do not respect animals cannot respect humans.
