I totally agree with Robert Hum's 'Even the Sultan joins the electoral fray'. Beyond the mere understanding of basic constitutional provisions regarding the conduct of the Sultans, I fear that the Sultan of Pahang is taking a big risk in putting his own dignity on the line.

What if the people of Pahang in increasing numbers vote for the opposition in the coming elections? Would this mean that they have turned against him and ignored his call for them to vote BN? Yes, it would. And how would he interpret this development?

The BN has done a remarkable job in making every strata of Malay society beholden to its brand of crony wealth creation. Is there any dignity left of the Malay rulers?
