If Abdul Taib Mahmud is really unhappy with our good prime minister, then he should just step down and leave politics.

Indeed, if he did so, I am sure the popular vote for the BN in Sarawak will rise higher than before since many in Sarawak know that Taib is not loved but only tolerated since he practices the politics of patronage. He holds the purse strings of the state government and because of that, he is "da boss" in town.

In the process, his family has enriched themselves so much ever since he came to power that it is amazing the ACA has still not yet investigated his family's "hard-earned" wealth. Perhaps the PM could instruct the ACA to get moving on investigating Abdul Taib Mahmud. This would be a real plus to the prime minister's anti-corruption campaign.

After all, which chief minister's family members can claim to own a conglomerate like Cahya Mata Sarawak that gets millions upon millions of patronage projects via infrastructure contracts courtesy of the Sarawak state government? And which chief minister's family members reportedly own prime real estate and bungalows in Ottawa, Canada? And which chief minister's family members are multi-million dollar majority shareholders of the Adelaide Hilton Hotel in Australia?

Abdul Taib Mahmud unhappy with PM? Actually, Sarawak is also unhappy with Abdul Taib Mahmud.
