For the past two elections, I have discovered that the clerk who is in charge of the ballot book will write your IC number on the tab of the book which is just like a cheque book with serial numbers on it (the ballot paper, which also contain the serial numbers, is torn from the ballot book and given to voters).

The first occasion, I demanded that she erase what she wrote which was in pencil. She dared not do so. So I ask for an eraser and did it myself in front of all the observers who incidentally did not realise what the fuss was all about. Can't blame them they were all innocent and ignorant school leavers.

The second occasion, the same thing happened. This time it was written in ink. So it could not be erased. I then approached the election supervisor or officer and demanded an explanation. The answer was 'Arahan dari atas', and he was pathetic and helpless. I could not vote with peace of mind and felt very cheated.

So watch out! Don't tell me about the Election Commission being fair. In those days, it would take them quite a long time and effort to analyse and trace if they had to. But these days with MyKad and powerful software, it's a piece of cake. So beware unless some watchdog does something about this situation promptly.
