Has anyone realised that Barisan Nasional's political advertising in the national mainstream media is clearly against both RTM's and Advertising Standards Association of Malaysia's (ASAM) advertising guidelines?

RTM's guidelines specifically say that ads that are political in nature are illegal. ASAM guidelines state that ads must be done 'in good taste' so as not to attack and demean competitors.

Being realistic, I don't expect RTM, ASAM and other relevant authorities including the Election Commission to do anything other than close both eyes and allow BN to do anything it wants.

Hence, despite the messages the ads are trying to put across, BN's ad campaign is yet another ghastly demonstration of the kind of 'clean governance' Pak Lah is promising for the next five years and that basically means where the BN gets to subjugate every authoritative body in the government into letting it do whatever it damn well pleases!
