When Pak Lah's list of candidates in the last general elections came short of being squeaky clean, we were persuaded that he needed a huge personal mandate from the people first before he can deal with the warlords effectively. So Malaysians gave him what he wanted.

Next, we wait anxiously for his cabinet line-up. Already we do not see any drastic change in the state line-ups. No more than the normal stuff. So is it possible now that he still needs Umno's mandate at the next Umno party elections first before he can drop those with fat grubby hands from the cabinet?

Who then will be the people that will ultimately decide on whether Pak Lah gets to do what the people wants? Farah Aziz seems to think that the people are happy with things the way they were, and that BN is the only party to have heard them in their silence. BlueRider already warned that any change in fundamental policies would incur his people's wrath.

Is it possible then that there will be no change because Pak Lah apologists will say that he is severely constrained by these party chiefs, members and sympathisers who do not want drastic changes, in spite of his personal good intentions? After all, according to Farah Aziz, the party should listen to the silent people who matters and not the vocal rebel-rousers who trivialise politics!

Instead of putting so much faith in one man, why didn't we have faith in ourselves to initiate changes at the polls? I guess when we don't speak up, other people like Farah Aziz put words in our mouth. It is they who will speak to Pak Lah for us.

Who will Pak Lah listen to? His cabinet line-up will be our second chance to find out. If there is no change, our third chance will be the cabinet reshuffle after the Umno elections. We wait, silently, for to speak up anxiously would not be the ideal Malaysian way according to Farah Aziz.
