Dear Sir,

Please don't interfere in the affairs of Burma. Your words and threats to the European Union on April 11 to accept our country, Burma, into Asem (Asia-Europe Meeting) without any condition is against the will of more than 90 percent of the people of our country who voted for the National League of Democracy (NLD) and affiliated parties in 1990.

Why do you keep quiet over the killings of opposition members by government thugs during the Depaying incident? Even if we accept the official government account that four NLD members were killed, unconfirmed opposition reports claim that about 80 opposition members were killed. Why are you not asking for any investigations or punishments into this?

About 300 mosques have been damaged, Korans burnt, Muslim Burmese properties destroyed and dozens of Muslim Burmese killed by the present military regime but you have shamelessly keep silent although your country is the present Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) chair.

No wonder your country invited some leaders who are brutally suppressing their Muslim citizens to the OIC summit in Kuala Lumpur last year. You should ask your think-tanks how to answer to Allah for those greedy deeds in looking to reap economic benefits while ignoring the suffering fellow Muslims.

It seems to us that you regard the Arabs (Palestinans and Iraqis), Muslim-Bosnians and Indonesians as the only Muslims in your own world. We are surprised you could even anger some of your great trading partners to defend them but do not risk angering them with the Muslim-Burmese issue?

No wonder, most of the Burmese - Buddhists, Christians and even Muslims - in our country are thankful to George Soros, Christian missionaries and the US and EU governments for supporting all of us.

But we are very disappointed with most of the world's Muslims leaders, including Asean leaders, not excluding UN special envoy for Burma Razali Ismail, for advocating and supporting the notorious military regime.

We do not support or condone the recent attack on the Burmese embassy in Kuala Lumpur. But you have been quiet on the basic cause of the problem.

Those criminals' citizenship statuses were denied to them. I am not defending those criminals but please, at least, consider the root cause before severely punishing them just to please the Burmese generals.

And ask your counterparts in the Malaysian cabinet not to threaten all Burmese citizens or try to collectively punish all the Burmese citizens here. Burmese citizens are not happy with your one-sided support for the generals.

And some black sheep in your country's enforcement teams are now taking the opportunity to harass and rob some of us under the guise of 'increased security' although all the perpetrators of the above-mentioned attack are under police detention.

Please be fair to all sides of the conflict.
