I refer to the article Lets talk, PAS . I find it rather naive that the writer believes that PAS will compromise upon its ambition for an Islamic state and the Hudud penal code. PAS exists precisely because of such an ambition.

PAS by default is an exclusively Muslim political entity. It cannot and will not share political power with non-Muslims especially since non-Muslims have a rather different aspiration for Malaysia (when compared to theirs).

It is very important that PAS gets down to specifics on its Islamic state agenda. Will non-Muslim female tourists be allowed to wear their bikinis on Malaysian beaches? Will PAS allow concerts by the likes of Mariah Carey? Will the Genting casino be closed down?

The devil dwells in the details and not on the superficial broad objectives. After all, everyone wants good for the nation but cannot agree on how to achieve it.
