Managerial incompetence the issue
I thank Pensioner for highlighting the statement on the miserable state of affairs in the Malay corporate world in my letter.
If Pensioner cares to reread my letter, he/she will see that I was talking neither about corporate villains, corporate mismanagement, crooks, nor idiots. Not yet, at least. If I have to make it explicit, that statement refers to managerial incompetence in the Malay corporate world.
There is really nothing new or surprising about that statement. Pensioner may have heard of the big plan undertaken by a former prime minister to create a viable class of Malay corporate people through political patronage.
This was evidently carried out under the auspice of the New Economic Policy. It is now common knowledge that he flopped spectacularly. Hence, that miserable state of affairs.
Meanwhile, I was somewhat amused by Pensioner's apparent disgust with 'pure racism'. If Pensioner is indeed so 'sick and tired' of it and if he/she hasn't done anything about it yet, may I suggest that he/she do something to help neutralise the wide ranging, deeply-ingrained racist policies that have crippled Malaysia for the last few decades?
A good starting point would be the New Economic Policy, which incidentally provided the very foundation that led to 'the miserable state of affairs in the Malay corporate world.'
Without a doubt, Pensioner can count me (and hopefully other like-minded people) as a supporter in this endeavour.
