I can understand Alfred Lim's worry that Webserver will be hit financially with the revelation that it hosts terrorism-related sites.

The fact remains, however, that so many offending sites were hosted for so long - more than a year, I gather. The hosting of websites can be likened to the renting of houses.

Most responsible landlords will ensure that they let out their houses to legitimate tenants. They will also conduct regular checks to see that their property is being rented out for legitimate purposes.

Acme Commerce did not do that. I also find it hard to believe that they did not know that they were listed on the Anti-terrorism Coalition list as hosts of terror-related sites. Surely they would have received notification?

Can Acme Commerce and Webserver also state categorically that they never ever received complaints that they were hosting terror-related sites?

My purpose in being blunt is not to victimise Acme Commerce. The point I hope to make is that many companies are quick to accept profitable but shady business and then plead ignorance.
