Since when has it become a national interest to focus on women's skin? I am referring to a minister crying foul over a soft drink advertisement that features female pop stars clad in gladiator-like costumes.

I believe each to his own and I don't see any reason why a cabinet minister has to decide what an advertisement should look like.

Where are our priorities? Are we 'Taliban-ising' our country? Does power mean demeaning a woman, controlling a woman? Why should a woman be told how she should or should not dress? I am sure she has the brains to decide how she should dress.

Women are told they can't enter a children's library if they wear shorts, the reason being it may affect the concentration of other readers present.

Who should decide what a woman wears? It is the woman. We are in the 21st century and the men are still telling us how we should dress?

Would we soon have a ban on the great nude paintings for example Henri Matisse's Nu Allonge (Reclining Nude). Would we be told that it is immoral to have a copy of his painting?

It is time the state draws a line as to how much it can interfere in a person's life in the name of religious and cultural beliefs.
