The recent announcement on the appointment of Super Teachers or Specialist Teachers won't solve the education problem in this country. The education policy should be reviewed totally.

No simple tweaking by introducing Super Teachers is going to have any significant impact on the education scenario.

The best measure will be to review all aspects of primary and secondary education, and teachers' training colleges. Renumeration packages for teachers should be attractive so that well-qualified and excellent candidates can be recruited.

Nowadays, for some, teaching is a last-resort occupation due to the poor salary and unhelpful treatment of teachers by the relevant ministry.

Like many other not well-thought out education policies of recent years, this Super Teachers thing may yet fly out the window in the future.
