We are a small group of smallholders at Pajam, Batang Benar area, Negri Sembilan. This area comes under the Mantin constituency and the Yang Berhormat is an MCA member by the name of Peter Lai.

We are simple ordinary folks earning a meagre living from our small holdings. Five months ago, the bridge which forms part of the access road for us to go to Pajam town was destroyed and we could not move or transport our daily smallholding of rubber and oil palm to Pajam.

We approached YB Peter Lai and he directed us to his service centre at Mantin. We met his representative there and we were promised that action would be taken in due course.

Five months have now passed and we are still suffering. Last week, we saw his representative in Mantin and he told us that his YB does not have any allocation to repair the bridge and that he has requested the district land office to handle the matter.

We are very disappointed with our YB. He stood for election in our constituency and for two terms we faithfully gave him our undivided support. Now that we need him, he has chosen to abandon us.

But we will be patient and we will wait for the next elections. We hope he never stands in this constituency again because he can be sure we will never give him our support any more.

Although the general election is still far away, we will not forget and we will not forgive.
