Students capable but not deserving

I refer to the letter from Ramesh on Racial benchmarks for med schools .
I have already given up on Malaysian education system and I don't want to look back ever again. I have been rejected in my bid to continue my education just because I am a non-bumi.
I think racism and discrimination are the words to describe the situation. But education is vital for a country's development and the younger generation are the future leaders.
Why is the government punishing those who are non-bumis by not giving them the opportunity to create a better life? Why does the government reject potential future leaders just because they are non-bumis?
