The My Asean Internship is a collaboration between the Trade and Industry Ministry and Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) to increase awareness of Asean among youth in Malaysia. It was officially launched by the International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed on Jan 26.

Under the programme, 100 high achieving Malaysian students in local universities will get the opportunity to do internships with leading Malaysian employers at various Asean locations, while Asean students in Malaysian universities will be able to intern in Malaysia. Internships under the programme will commence in July 2015 and run for a period of 10 weeks.

The pioneer group of employers participating in this programme comprise 13 leading organisations which have business operations in one or more Asean countries. These are AirAsia, Axiata, BDO, CIMB, Digi, GE, Maybank, Nestlé, Sime Darby, Sunway, Securities

Commission Malaysia, UEM, and ZICOlaw.
