Yesterday, DAP’s Petaling Jaya Utara parliamentarian Tony Pua threatened to expose more about alleged corruption, incompetence and abuse of power in 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

This came after he received a court writ from Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for a defamation suit. Pua also claims that such a legal suit was a strategy by the prime minister to silence him.

I urge Pua to stop playing 'smokescreen' politics, which he has been fond of doing since he was elected as the MP for Petaling Jaya Utara.

It will be more productive for him as a 'wakil rakyat' to serve the nation productively, instead of shouting, demonstrating and issuing statements.

Pua has been consistent in accusing the prime minister of lack of governance, transparency and accountability, in order to paint a picture that the country’s economy under Najib’s leadership is going down the drain.

Has Pua forgotten his own dirty linen in Cyber Village Sdn Bhd, before he became an active politician? Does he want to open his own can of worms?

The prime minister recently urged an investigation into accounts of 1MDB, of which I says that while this is a right move, the audit should be conducted independently and without any political interference.

Above all, Pua should first understand the fundamentals of company law before confusing the people with negative statements in relation to 1MDB.
