I refer to the letter Apostates can go to Sabah, Sarawak by SBMJ Iree.

I find it offending that the writer wrote '... apostates ... can just go and live in Sabah or Sarawak where no one cares what you want to do with your religion'.

First, what authority does he/she have to say that we in Sabah and Sarawak do not care about our religion and the religion of others?

The assumption that there is more tolerance towards religion in Sarawak and Sabah points to the fact the we do understand and care about our religions while at the same time avoiding the 'holier-than-thou' attitude prevailing elsewhere.

Secondly, is the writer insinuating that we are second class states, which he saw fit as a disposal areas for the discards and fall-outs of the 'holier-than-thou' conflicts in the Semenanjung (Malaya)?

So shouldn't Sarawak and Sabah continue to make entry more difficult for those from the peninsular? I wonder what else other than apostates will be 'dumped' on our shores. Absurd, isn't it?

I have had a personal friend murdered by a convicted criminal from the peninsular who was sent to Sarawak on 'restricted residence'. What next? Will another friend turn 'murtad' due to the influence of the 'migrated' apostates?

Come on, Peninsularians, grow up please. We, in Sabah and Sarawak care about our religion and go out of our way to understand the religions of others. Maybe others can learn from us too?
