A man who would suggest some eons ago, the culling of some laws that were oppressive is now bent on introducing worse ones, to save himself.
History repeats itself: a liberator who becomes a dictator at the end of a process.
Let us end what's ailing Malaysia. We must act without waiting for a miracle. To pray to God for peace, food and justice without removing oppressive structures would be just plain, hypocrisy.
Be quiet and we'll lose whatever dignity we have left.
Be quiet and we'll renounce the spirit of justice and freedom.
Be quiet, give in or delay, we’ll lose the means to our independence and the meaning of what it means to be truly free.
How can we keep quiet when there's widespread corruption and criminality?
How can we keep quiet when the powers-that-be have no legitimacy to rule? He said that no one but him, was given the mandate to rule. Fifty one percent rejected no one, but you. That, too, in elections rigged by no one, but you.
How can we keep quiet when our beloved and much blessed motherland, is now all but bankrupt? Badly battered, bleeding profusely?
How can we keep quiet when there’s hardly any judicial effectiveness in our courts?
How can we keep quiet when national institutions are no longer independent?
How can we keep quiet when the authorities and those aligned to them, can demonstrate so freely in public how they can taser or manhandle us ‘unruly’ ones? (With sharp weapons, too!) Is there ever any legitimacy in the use of physical force?
How can we keep quiet when those tasked to protect us, common folks, and act in our interests, have now begun to predate us?
How can we keep quiet when a significant portion of the political elite (did they say they are 3 million strong?) do not conform to the rules regulating power and, on accumulation and distribution of wealth?
How can we keep quiet when there's outright violation of our rights to eat, breathe and love in our very own beloved motherland? The right to life, in our very own homes?
How can we keep quiet when there’s a moral crisis prevalent among the ruling elite? They lie through their teeth every single day and expect us to swallow their dongeng-dongeng hook, line and sinker? Hey, enough-lah, please!
How can we keep quiet when there’s organised and selective persecution? When freedom of conscience seems dangerous?
How can we keep quiet when we have a recalcitrant ruling elite that demands of us, standards which they themselves refuse to comply?
How can we keep quiet when we are now in dire straits? Faced with the infidelity of a leader who asked for gold instead of legitimate authority and in doing so, he's destroying all that is dear to us - our beloved motherland and the fate of our fellow Malaysians? Causing our nation to head to her ruin?
Enough of this folly
Enough of this folly - to entrust ourselves to someone who does not care for us. Someone who has proven, time and again, that he is serving his own ambitions and is now, the nation’s oppressor. He has confused responsibility with abuse of authority. He has spawned a ruling elite that can, neither rule legitimately or effectively.
Bersih 4 is legal. Don’t let fools tell you any differently.
Bersih 4 never turns unruly. It’s the reds donning yellow, strutting their stuff and singing for their supper.
Bersih 4, like all Bersihs, will be the leaven of authentic democracy that we, Malaysians, truly deserve. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) may block all the websites but they can never rob us of our dignity, much less our spirit for justice and freedom.
Come, follow our conscience, to fight for things that give meaning to our lives.
Come, reestablish a national life based on justice and truth.
Come, to denounce a social system that crushes the lowly and seek liberation from an exploitative and anti-social ruling elite. To denounce a leader who laid a heavy yoke on his people, just so he can carry on his folly.
Come, to be in solidarity with fellow Malaysians. Our solidarity will be the definitive weapon through which our motherland will be saved. Let’s reorient Malaysia's history and not allow ourselves to be a failed state. Let's restore a ‘dead’ people.
Those of us who love Malaysia are not a minority. We are not only 3 million-strong. We are the tens of millions who care and will do whatever it takes to keep our motherland, not just afloat but pristine. Not the way she's being abused right now, spiralling into a failed state.
By our own valour, we Malaysians will save Malaysia from those bent on annihilating her for their own self interests.
Come, show Malaysia that it’s okay to love her so shamelessly, in spite of all the abuses she has gone through. In spite of what she has become, today.
Come, and show the whole world that, there’s no fear in love.
