It was indeed heart wrenching to read the report and think of the trauma and loneliness the girl was going through. But in the midst of all this, where is her partner? Shouldn't he be located so that counselling can also be provided to him, as well as advice on him shouldering his responsibilities as a man?

An official commented that this was an isolated case and that proper punishment would be meted out to the undergrad so that 'the problem' will be nipped in the bud. But I beg to differ.

How many people out there are having pre-marital sex? Without condoms? We don't need a nationwide, government-funded survey to get the answers. Throw a stone in Kuala Lumpur, and you won't just hit a female degree holder, but also one who has undergone an abortion.
