I thank God for His most merciful blessing and love. With His compassionate guidance, I am saved from my own momentary indiscretion and thoughtlessness, and with His blessing, I will be completely forgiven for the hurt I have unwittingly caused some parties.

I am but a family man beholden to His mercy and judgement, and I pray for His continuing compassion that the unfortunate incident be closed peacefully in His holy month of tolerance, love and forgiveness.

I also wish to express my sincere thanks to:

  • the authorities for their consideration in not pressing any charges against me in the spirit of Ramadan;

  • Mr X and company for making the brotherly effort and sacrifice to appeal on my behalf during my plight. I thank them most of all for their understanding that I had no malice nor any evil intent towards any party, and that my unthoughtful act had been on the spur of the moment and during a heated debate. I thank them for the diplomatic words which enabled me to express my feelings and thoughts effectively;
  • Malaysia-today for publishing my apology note, and understanding that there was real repentance on my part;
  • Malaysiakini for publishing an appeal letter on my behalf, sent in by Mr X;
  • Malaysian Lampoon for temporarily suspending his blog in sympathy for my plight and Sinner's Ark for his effort to assist me;
  • All readers yang memberi sokongan dan bersimpati terhadap saya. Ribuan terima kasih, saudara-saudari
  • And last, but not least, to all Malaysians who in their forgiving spirit had understood that my thoughtless act had been nothing more than a regretful action in the heat of a blog debate that I have expressed contrition over.
  • I am after all an unsophisticated working man lacking the power of language except those that I use on a daily basis in my humble life. In the spirit of Ramadan, as a humble act of repentance, I have donated to Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Pesakit HIV/AIDS Malaysia a humble amount to alleviate the sufferings of others.

    Through His merciful blessings and His will I have undergone and now understand what suffering can be. I am now at peace with my inner self, feeling His bountiful blessing and mercy, and now even more humbled to respect the feelings of others.

    Once again, my heartfelt thanks to you all.
