I refer to the announcement yesterday by Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali that the formation of the new opposition coalition, Pakatan Harapan is unrelated to the Selangor government. PAS had also confirmed yesterday that they will not join Pakatan Harapan.

Notwithstanding that PAS is not part of the new coalition of Pakatan Harapan, the menteri besar of Selangor confirms that the three PAS state assemblypersons shall remain in the state executive council (exco).

Thus, there are currently two coalition which PKR is involved in, in this country. The first being Pakatan Harapan, partnering with DAP and Amanah. The second being a yet to be named coalition in Selangor government, with the presence of both DAP and PAS.

(For ease of reference, I shall temporarily call it 'Azmin’s Coalition')

Since the menteri besar of Selangor had clearly stated that Pakatan Harapan is unrelated to the Selangor government, it is unclear whether PKR's new partner at national leval, Amanah, has been excluded from the Selangor government or Azmin’s Coalition.

Amanah currently has at least two state assembly representatives in the Selangor state assembly.

It is unfortunate that Azmin had yet to make it clear the status of Amanah in the Selangor state government.

Thus, the status of Amanah in the state assembly is unclear, whether as “independents” or part of Azmin’s coalition.

It is important to know the status of Amanah so that the Rakyat will know whether the policies of Amanah and the actions of their two state assembly representatives represent the Selangor government or Azmin’s Coalition.

As such, Gerakan Youth urge the menteri besar of Selangor to clarify the position of Amanah in Selangor.

The rakyat deserves to know the truth.
