Truth be told, after all the public harangue of recent days there appears no reasonable rhyme or respectable reason any thinking man on RapidKL would find palatable for the racket and rally caused by raucous red-shirted rovers on the streets of KL. Red shirt excesses. Red shirt shenanigans. Red shirts rebels without a cause. If you like to know - I am the fly on the wall. And I do not suffer from cataract vision!

The political footsloggers, for all the rhythm and racket caused, have ill conceived their diabolical plans and, sadly, Lucifer did not appear as an angel of light. What is certain is that the red shirts are now synonymous with scurrilous scumbags. Since when has decibels become right? Or raising hellfire necessarily divine? It’s pathetic when the message they want to project becomes mired in the filth of racist chants and rabid incantations.

What is clear is its vociferousness. What is not clear is the appeal to intellect and reason. When the message is so ghoulishly garbled, would not reason take fright and flee?

Your PM - mired in a sloughpond of his own making - still deserves to be surrounded with people with some sense, at least some of them! To have footsloggers without a modicum of sense and sensibility does a grave injustice to the august office he holds.

And the apparent mismatch, (to put it mildly) or the gaping gulf (to put it properly) between his public persona in international fora and his personal image in domestic discourse would have scared off the legion of devils and goblins in Dickens’ ‘Christmas Carol’.

Problems are opportunities. Radical loudness is never a winner. Try a soft appeal to reason. Try a gait that squares with your honeyed talk. And try wiping away that silly smirk on your face captured for all on Channel News Asia. Sometimes cameras, sometimes microphones lurk in unsuspecting crooks and crannies.

And red shirts, you really want to trample on Petaling Street?

PM, it’s time for a changing of the guards. The red shirt tune is deploringly dismal. It sounds like something from the loo, yes, Waterloo.
