Unite under the flag of peace
While Malaysians are struggling to free themselves from the shackles of cost of living, we are all shocked and deeply saddened by the recent Paris attack.
A series of attacks have occurred throughout the French capital which killed more than 150 civilians. The attack was allegedly perpetrated by the IS militants. On the same day, there was a series of suicide explosions which caused many casualties in Iraq and Libya.
This tragedy has certainly caused panic in each and every corner of the world. The efficiency of a country’s defence system would apparently being questioned and became a major issue that needs to be resolved by the government.
Thus, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Law Students’ Society (Usim Lawsoc) strongly condemns all kind of terrorism acts. We believe that no single religion preaches on its followers to do violence towards humankind.
We also urge all Malaysians especially students not to be influenced by this kind of terrorism acts. We should not engage in any business that used violence as a means in achieving something. Instead, we must stand firm and fight vehemently against violence as it is repugnant with the principles of humanity.
Awareness programmes should be frequently conducted by any relevant bodies so that all Malaysians will be enlightened of the current issues which revolve around the world. Hence, it is one of the ways to refrain any negative influence among the society from engaging in these barbaric acts.
Despite the tragedy in Paris, we shall not shrug off on the ongoing violence against our brothers in Palestine, which is still being debated and continued to occur without any action being taken. It is the time to put an end for all violence.
Let us all unite for humanity, regardless of race and religion, in rejecting violence and terrorism acts in ensuring the earth as a land of peace and tranquility for living humanity.
