It has come to the attention of the Penang Chief Minister’s Office that a private event known as ‘Malaysia Top Business Excellence Awards 2016’ is currently being advertised and circulated through letters and emails to home-grown firms and multi-national companies in Malaysia.

Organised by a company named MY Business Excellence Sdn Bhd (Reg No: 1151435-X), the event’s Grand Awards Gala is purportedly going to be held in Penang and in the presence of, among others, YAB Lim Guan Eng.

It must be strongly emphasised that neither YAB Lim Guan Eng nor the Penang state government is aware of this private event and/or have any link with the company concerned. For avoidance of doubt, no such endorsement has been given for this event by the Penang state government at any time. Neither does the Penang state government possess knowledge on the guidelines and criteria to be used in judging participating companies.

Members of the public are advised to be careful of attempts, whether intentional or otherwise, by irresponsible parties to discredit the Penang chief minister and the Penang state government.
