I will try to make this piece short and sweet (uhm... maybe not that sweet).

Most of us are already overwhelmed by the influx of Umno general assembly updates through our Facebook and Twitter pages; 90 percent of which are against Najib Abdul Razak or about the never-ending malice between Najib, Muhyiddin Yassin and Mahathir Mohamad.

And because for that, I can’t think of anything else but the sorry state of our country left in the hands of those ‘goonies in red’.

Am I angry? Hell yes! In fact every Malaysian should be angry right now. The constant barrage of bad news are not helping especially when stories about a father who lost his job, the mother unemployed and the child facing suspension for failing to come up with college payment.

Yes, we should be furious now when the only ‘intelligent’ solution given by our warrior leaders are to raise prices and remove subsidies. Yes, we should be fuming now when this beloved country is at the brink of depression and yet they continue to howl about loyalty to inept leaders!

Frustratingly, at the Umno assembly long touted to be more ground-breaking than the Parliament session itself, no one dares to speak up and be accounted for, and yet wantonly speak ill of past leaders who had led us to prosperity for decades!

I am also angry with the influential-powerful individual who lamented on hardships at classy coffee shop but ‘refused to be quoted’ fearing they might lose their membership privileges; or those who have the power to publish and broadcast but will happily mute brave voices and amplify falsifiers. I am so angry at those ‘ustaz’ who finds it amusing to condemn us to hellfire for the most obscure reason but proudly condone the heinous acts of our corrupt politicians.

This year’s assembly may be different in some ways but not in others. For one the top brasses within Umno are more nervous than ever about the meeting and had taken aggressive measures to curb possible ‘uprising’ by their own members. At the opposite side of the ring Muhyiddin, Mahathir and their entourage have taken a bolder action to openly demand that Najib step down and be accounted for.

Forget about the delegates as they will only echo the sounds and the footsteps of their political heretics. When there is really nothing else to speak about, our high cost of living might just do the trick. It is all about Najib now. You are either with Najib or against him. Let the delegates speak with pomposity and with clenched fist and if you really want to amuse yourself, listen with the mute button on.

I believe we have exhausted all ‘negotiable’ avenues to settle amicably. We do not care any more because we know at the end of this five-day drama business will be as usual again; and we will continue to suffer... again.

My fellow Malay comrades, can we afford status quo? To do nothing, and to expect everything in return? Who will be our next best choice to lead us to Valhalla? Or powerful enough to ask God to part the sea and guide us to Cana’an, where paradise awaits? Will it be Najib still?

Speak up or forever hold your peace.
