The statement by Higher Education Minister Idris Jusoh does not contradict my earlier press statement as he was merely restating the government’s ‘existing policy’.

The minister also said that he had met with personnel involved in the United Examination Certificate (UEC) issue in Kuching last March and noted their view, effectively signifying the government’s openness in handling the issue.

The co-ordinating works for the eventual recognition of UEC are continuous and ongoing.
