New SOP for police and Health Ministry welcomed
I am totally impressed and very pleased to see the super-efficient and prompt action by both the police and Health Ministry in the tragic and unfortunate case of passing away of Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi at University Hospital as reported here and here. May God bless his soul and family.
It’s good and very heart-warming to note that the Health Ministry and police acted super-fast in this case of an ordinary Malaysian passing away in allegedly suspicious circumstances.
The health minister himself spoke about the probe being completed within two weeks and the Kuala Lumpur police chief spoke about his team’s investigation in this death.
Normally the police will wait for police report and public pressure before acting, but in this case the men in the blue sprang to action straight away.
I believe this is the way forward for the police and Health Ministry setting the standard for future action.
Now can we have the same swiftness and public disclosures on the many custodial deaths that occur as well as all death in government hospitals? The same promptness and immediate action is also warranted and needed for the other deaths of ordinary Malaysian in any death cases.
