Gerakan Media Marah (Geramm) regrets the incident between Perak Amanah Youth vice-chief Hasnul Zulkarnain and a group of journalists outside its office in Kuala Kangsar yesterday.

The threats and harsh words directed by Hasnul towards a female reporter should not have happened, what more when all the journalists were invited to come.

The incident was recorded by online broadcaster KiniTV and raised anger among many media practitioners.

Geramm therefore urges all parties to be more mature and professional in their interaction with the media.

A positive and friendly relationship between the media and political parties is crucial in a healthy democracy.

We hope that all political parties in this country can prevent such incidents from happening again in future.
