Wanita PKR is deeply saddened and shocked by news of the cold-blooded murder of Bill Kayong, our candidate for N71 Bekenu in the recent Sarawak state elections.

Our colleagues just met him at a state meeting last week and all of a sudden he is gone. Bill Kayong will be deeply missed. We have lost a good activist, a good comrade, a friend and a brother.

We urge that the police seriously look into the illegal possession of armed weapons and how unsafe the Malaysia is now. Just not too long ago, Ambank founder Hussain Najadi was also shot at point blank range. Then, Kevin Morais was found in a cemented oil drum. Earlier, the Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaariibuu, was blown to pieces by C4 explosives. What is this country coming to?

We would also like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Bill Kayong and give our word to ensure that justice is served to those responsible for his death. Bill was as much a family member to us in PKR.
