I refer to the humiliation dished out by the Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (Jawi) onto some 100 Muslim youths when the agency raided a Kuala Lumpur nightspot recently. Does Jawi understand the tenets of Islam Hadhari or were they just acting because they truly believed they were being 'progressive'?

I am puzzled as to why only that particular nightspot was singled out. If Jawi officers intend to strictly implement Islamic laws and ensure that Muslim youths are of high morals, then why not raid all nightspots everyday, and in all states too.

While they are doing this, why not ambush the many hotels and spas which are being frequented by the rich and famous. They should just continue raiding nightspots and humiliating 'strayed' Muslims so that soon, no Muslim would dare to be less Islamic than Jawi.

Jawi should carry on raiding for after all, they will only be carrying out their duties as the moral guardian of all Muslims.

Better still, they should check out the prestigious clubs which are being frequented by those with nothing less than a Datuk title who drink, dine and party there. But if Jawi personnel feel they can't do this, then they are not good moral guardians for us Muslims. Let God decide then who is fit for heaven.
