I read with interest the assurances by the home affairs minister that he is confident that Pakistan has an efficient and strict security vetting system that will prevent militants and those from extremist backgrounds from being sent to Malaysia.

The honourable minister stated that Pakistan had a new high-tech '2003 Generation Camera that can capture the image of irises and the biometric system' of a person, whatever that is.

I am very keen to learn how this gadget picks up on extremists and those with inclinations towards terrorism. I am sure that there are many countries in the world who would be also very interested in such a technology.

I hope that Pakistan and the good minister would kindly share this secret with the rest of us. Most of all, it is comforting to know that our minister has endorsed it.
