I refer to the report Red tape leads to dark world which revealed the case of a retired civil servant who had to endure a long and painful wait for not only reimbursement, but also money from the government to halt the advance of multiple sclerosis, the disease she suffered from.

Because of the delays and the 'couldn't care less' attitude of certain government officers, the lady is now blind and has she lost the use of both legs.

It makes me sick reading about this tragedy when it could so easily have been averted if the appropriate government staff had made an effort to look into the issue immediately.

How could this have happened? A woman is now blind and confined to a wheelchair because certain people in government just didn't care.

Some things in Malaysia just never change. Like the mentality of the people. Who can be held responsible for this and will our government take action to prevent this from happening again?
