With reference to the letter titled 'Beware the life insurance snare' published on May 6, malaysiakini would like to apologise to Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad for inadvertently referring to the company in the said letter.

It has come to malaysiakini's knowledge that Great Eastern Life Assurance was not involved in any way in the matter that was written about in the said letter.

We hope that this unreserved apology will clarify the situation and remove any unfounded allegations as alluded to in the said letter.
