A cry for the nation
The protracted struggles with no end in sight;
Some said it is policies we fight;
Some said it is principles we are willing to die;
And yet some said our strategies and tactics must be right.
Principles, policies or strategies notwithstanding;
Some said it is morality we are lacking;
The endless baloney we are tolerating;
And the wanton hypocrisy we are indulging.
Be that as may be;
Did we really quarrel over principles and policies?
Did we really not know the wrong and right?
Were there really differences in tactics and strategies?
How different can our principles and policies be?
How do we not know our conscience and morality?
Who really has monopoly over tactics and strategies?
Are these mere excuses and imaginaries?
Alas, it is all about the power of incumbency;
Power backed by laws deliberately made flimsy;
Supported by state apparatuses that are dodgy;
And reinforced by those who are blinded by largesse.
We will hear more of the Rohingyas’ plight;
The unilateral conversion fight;
Hadi’s holier than thou 355;
But we know these are red herring sights.
We are now a nation on autopilot flight;
MH370 comes to mind;
The watery grave where it lies;
Could this nation ever be found and recover its pride?
