With regards to the debate on Approved Permits (AP), one will be appalled to note that if we look at car prices, AP holders are the ones reaping huge profits at the expense of the motoring public.

No matter how much excise duties and sales taxes are imposed on cars after June 30 following implementation of the Asean Free Trade Area (Afta), one cannot deny the fact that the ones that actually stand to benefit are these AP holders.

The prime minister must see that clearly that the continued existence of these APs does not augur well for not only the national car industry but also for the public in general.

Civil servants and wage earners from all walks of life are forced to accept the prices dictated by AP holders. Where on earth can you find such an abused policy for the rich to enrich themselves? These bloodsuckers of society must be gotten rid off.

A realistic approach would not only entail having an alternative method to assist Proton but also the country in general. Rid the policy for APs, introduce better controls and have a better pricing structure based on demand and supply.

Wake up, Malaysians. Exercise your rights and tell your elected representative to do exactly this through Parliament. Failing which, you know what to do at the next general election.
