Every year we hear the sad stories of top SPM students left out from the scholarship list drawn up by the Public Services Department (JPA).

This has been going on for as long as anyone can remember. From news reports, it appears that only the non-bumiputera students are the victims of this opaque government policy involving our tax money.

Just like there are calls for Approved Permit recipients to be publicised, can we call on our prime minister to also direct the JPA to publicise the name of all their scholarship recipients together with their results and annual family income?

This will clear away any doubt that the JPA is unfair and that there is no misuse or abuse of power by anyone.

If that is too much, then can we settle for a list of all the non-bumiputera students who have received JPA scholarships? This will clear any perception that the scholarships are just handouts for BN cronies.

This will also encourage all those hawkers, taxi drivers or even government servants with brilliant children to start getting active in Barisan Nasional parties.

I request for such a list because I accuse the JPA of awarding its scholarships to undeserving non-bumi students due to the limited quota that the department has for non-bumi students. Please prove me wrong.
