Rafidah Aziz's no show at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday to explain the APs issue shows that she is playing cat-and-mouse with regards to the controversy. The wall of silence on her part to explain in detail the criteria for those selected to receive APs shows that all is not well with regards to her political career.

Was she afraid that her peers would slaughter her during that Cabinet meeting, as the premier wasn't around to protect her like her former mentor used to when they were buddies. So many questions but no answers.

She, like the present president of the Philippines, is facing a political thunderstorm which will eventually kill her political career. The light at the end of the tunnel Rafidah is in seems darken by the day as the people don't seem to believe what she says anymore.

Both she and the Philippines president are intelligent women in their own right, but being human they are still fraught with human weaknesses. The longer they stay in office, the more damage they will do to their nations and the parties they represent.

The lesson to be learnt here is that the longer you stay in office, the more prone you are to make mistakes. Hopefully, long standing ministers will not remain in office for too long and make way for new blood with better visions to take our country to new heights.

One tends to be sorry for the present premier who doesn't want to replace long-standing ministers with new faces unless the ministers resign voluntarily. But in this blessed country of ours, ministers will only go when their hands were caught red-handed in jars of controversy.

The culture of our ministers resigning voluntarily after serving a certain term is still not ingrained in them. Hopefully in the coming months, the prime minister have the political will to replace ministers who have been in office for ages and are mediocre in their performance.

There are others which can replace them. The questions now is, 'If not now, when?'as the public at large is clamoring for change to happen at the top and for the guilty parties to pay for their sins.
