MCA polls: Chua less of a yes man
I am not a member of any political party but being a Chinese Malaysian, I am not impressed with the performance of the MCA. They are all yes-men to Umno.
I have one comment to make regarding the coming elections. Ong Ka Ting was chosen as president by Dr Mahathir Mohamad who did not want a strong Chinese leader. He wanted another yes-man to accept what he dished out.
Chua Jui Meng was edged out very quickly. I do not think much of Chua as he is also another Umno yes-man but given Mahathir's choice, I am inclined to think he is less of a yes-man than Ong.
If I were in the MCA, I would chose someone Mahathir did not want. He would make less of a yes-man. If the MCA members continue to choose what Mahathir chose, they will never have a president whom Chinese Malaysians will respect.
I know the usual argument of the yes-men. 'Choose someone who is acceptable to Umno because of the dialogue.' This proves it is yes-man talk.
Remember, Umno does not want a strong Chinese Malaysian leader.
