The case of the Perak assemblyman Tajuddin Abdul Rahman's threatening behaviour in the state assembly and his subsequent threat to sue is totally out of order in this day and age.

It will only serve to bring what little is left of our 48-year-old parliamentary democracy into ridicule. How can anyone condone a threat to physically punch a fellow state legislator just because he disagrees with what he says?

It's about time someone tell such violent-prone state assemblymen this: 'If you cannot put your case forward without violent threats, you are merely emulating the antics of the local thugs'.

The state assemblies should mete out an anti-social-behaviour penalties on such culprits.
